Bio
Coach Collins is entering his third season at DVC, where he looks to cement the Vikings as a powerhouse in the CCCAA.
In 2025, just his second year at the helm, Coach Collins guided DVC to a 10–2 record, the Bay 6 League Championship, the highest 3C2A ranking ever achieved by the program in the modern era, and—most notably—the first State Playoff berth in school history. The Vikings also earned 13 All-Conference selections, and Coach Collins was named Bay 6 Coach of the Year.
The two-time national championship head coach made his presence felt immediately during his first season in Pleasant Hill by leading the Vikings to the 2024 Golden Valley Bowl Championship. Before taking the helm at DVC, Coach Collins served as the head coach at City College of San Francisco from 2015–2023, where he was named the 2015 and 2021 CCCAA All-American Coach of the Year.
Coach Collins’ teams have made the postseason in each of his 10 seasons as a head coach, compiling 11 postseason victories, two Northern California Championships, two State Championships, and two National Championships. During this time, more than 230 of his players have transferred to four-year colleges. Of those transfers, more than 150 continued their careers with Division I programs, and more than 175 players have earned scholarships.
Coach Collins began his career coaching quarterbacks at City College of San Francisco, a role he now maintains with the Vikings. In his 16 seasons working with quarterbacks, Coach Collins has helped 18 earn Division I opportunities, and 26 total have continued to play at the four-year level.
After playing quarterback for CCSF in 2005 and winning a Northern California Championship, Coach Collins transferred to Portland State University, where he played quarterback for head coach Jerry Glanville and offensive coordinator Mouse Davis, the founder of the run-and-shoot offense. At Portland State, he earned 2008 Big Sky Academic All-Conference honors and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
In 2011, Coach Collins earned a Master of Sports Science with an emphasis in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama.
A Bay Area native, Coach Collins currently resides in the East Bay with his wife and two sons.
