Men's Basketball Show Second-Half Fight in Road Loss at Cosumnes River
Diablo Valley College battled through adversity on the road Wednesday night but came up short in a 77–62 loss to Cosumnes River at Clark Court.
After a slow start in the first half, the Vikings showed resilience coming out of the locker room, outscoring the Hawks 44–40 in the second half and cutting into a large halftime deficit. Diablo Valley's energy picked up defensively and on the glass, leading to improved ball movement and more aggressive scoring opportunities after the break.
Antoine Morgan led the Vikings offensively, finishing with a team-high 15 points and knocking down five three-pointers to spark the comeback effort. Kaleb McKenzie added 11 points off the bench, attacking the basket and getting to the free-throw line, while Brandon Earl contributed a strong all-around performance with eight points and a team-best 10 rebounds. Tyler Robbins was active inside as well, pulling down nine rebounds and adding seven points.
Diablo Valley won the rebounding battle 41–38 and generated several second-chance opportunities, particularly in the second half, but early shooting struggles proved difficult to overcome. The Vikings finished the night with 17 offensive rebounds and continued to compete until the final buzzer.
