Football stays perfect with 48–17 win over Sacramento City
Pleasant Hill, CA (Sept. 20, 2025) — Diablo Valley College continued its unbeaten run, moving to 5-0 on the season with a commanding 48-17 victory over Sacramento City. The Vikings dominated in all phases, piling up 526 yards of total offense and getting big performances from both their offense and defense.
Quarterback Kalani McLeod led the charge, completing 19 of 25 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns, spreading the ball across multiple playmakers. He connected with:

Darien Maragh on an 8-yard touchdown,

Garrett Esomonu for a 25-yard strike before halftime, and

Nicholas Fox on a 27-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
Miller also added a 1-yard rushing touchdown and finished with 2 total scores.
The Vikings' ground game kept Sacramento City on its heels. Martis Ferguson broke loose for an 83-yard touchdown run, finishing with 85 yards on just four carries. Elijah Bow added the knockout punch with a 73-yard touchdown run in the fourth, tallying 74 yards on six attempts.
Khai Taylor led all Viking receivers with five catches for 98 yards, while Maragh chipped in five receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown.
The Diablo Valley defense limited Sacramento City to just 178 total yards and forced key mistakes.

Wesley Garton stood out with seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and an interception returned 23 yards.

Kicker Adrian Guzman was perfect, hitting all six extra-point attempts, while Journey McKoy sparked the return game with two kick returns for 68 yards, including a 40-yarder.
The Vikings showed balance across the board — 297 passing yards, 229 rushing yards, and 24 first downs — while holding Sacramento City to just 12 first downs and 3 yards per play.
