The Diablo Valley College Vikings capped off a stellar regular season with a commanding 34–21 victory over City College of San Francisco at Viking Stadium on Friday night, earning a share of the Bay 6 Conference Championship in a three-way tie for first place. The win improves DVC's record to 9–1 overall, solidifying their position among the top programs in Northern California.
Fast Start Fuels the Vikings
Quarterbacks Kalani McLeod and Jayden Macedo led the Vikings' offense to a quick 14–7 first-quarter lead. Macedo opened the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run, and McLeod followed with a 15-yard strike to Ferrari Miller just minutes later.
Kicker Daniel Soccol added two field goals in the second quarter (32 and 37 yards), while McLeod found the end zone again on a 1-yard keeper to extend the lead to 27–7 by halftime. Soccol's perfect night (2-for-2 FG, 4-for-4 PAT) added 10 points to the Viking total.
After the break, Ferrari Miller broke loose for a 67-yard touchdown run, capping his night with 108 rushing yards and two total scores. The Vikings' offense amassed 361 total yards, efficiently converting 64% of third downs to control the tempo and the clock (32:58 possession time).
Defensively, DVC's pressure and discipline proved decisive. The Vikings forced two interceptions — one each by Journey McKoy and Kaden McIver — and recovered two fumbles to keep San Francisco at bay. Linebacker Santino Acevedo led the defense with 12 total tackles, while Marley Alapati added seven stops and a forced fumble.
San Francisco quarterback Darius Clark-James was responsible for all three of the Rams' touchdowns on the ground, but his two interceptions and lost fumbles ultimately swung momentum to the home side.
With the victory, Diablo Valley clinches a share of the Bay 6 Conference Championship, marking one of the program's most successful seasons in recent memory. The Vikings will now await postseason assignments, carrying momentum and confidence after their dominant regular-season finish.
