Football defeats Butte, 30-7, in First Ever Playoff Win, advances to play Modesto in NorCal Semifinals
Diablo Valley capped off an outstanding 2025 regular season with a commanding 30–7 victory over Butte on Saturday afternoon in Pleasant Hill. The Vikings improved to 10–1, powered by explosive plays on offense and a relentless defensive effort.
Vikings Catch Fire in the Second Quarter
After a scoreless first period, DVC broke the game open midway through the second.
Quarterback Jayden Macedo found Khai Taylor for a 12-yard touchdown to put the Vikings on the board. Moments later, running back Ferrari Miller electrified the home crowd with an 84-yard burst to the end zone, extending the lead to 14–0 at halftime.
Offense Stays Hot After the Break
The Vikings continued to roll coming out of the locker room. Macedo powered in a 7-yard rushing touchdown early in the third quarter, and quarterback Kalani McLeod wasted no time making an impact, connecting with Taylor for a 65-yard touchdown strike to make it 28–0.
DVC finished its scoring in the fourth with a defensive safety, sealing the 30–7 win.
