Football Dominates San Jose 54–10 with Explosive Offense and Stifling Defense
Diablo Valley overpowered San Jose at Jaguar Stadium on Saturday night, winning 54–10 to move to 6–1 (1–1). The Vikings piled up 569 total yards and scored on offense, defense, and special teams contributions.
Quarterback Kalani McLeod set the tone with three first-half touchdown passes—7 yards to Darien Maragh (12:26, 1Q), 14 yards to Miles Dixon (1:30, 1Q), and 26 yards to Dixon again (6:52, 2Q)—before adding a 38-yard strike to Ferrari Miller (2:40, 2Q). McLeod finished 20-of-25 for 278 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Jayden Macedo added a 58-yard TD to Dixon early in the third quarter.
Miles Dixon was the primary target all night, posting 12 receptions for 199 yards and three touchdowns, including the 58-yard catch-and-run from Macedo. Miller contributed two scores—his 38-yard reception before halftime and a 1-yard rushing TD on the first play of the fourth quarter. Elijah Bow closed the scoring with a 21-yard touchdown run in the final minute.
The defense delivered a pivotal score when Marley Alapati jumped a route for a 41-yard interception return TD at 13:34 of the second quarter. Diablo Valley generated steady backfield pressure with 2.0 sacks (led by Langston Cook with 1.0) and eight pass breakups (including two each by Ananias Walker and Jordon Gray). The Vikings also limited San Jose to 3.6 yards per pass attempt and forced the Jaguars' lone touchdown to come on a short field late in the half.
Special teams repeatedly flipped field position. Nicholas Fox totaled 77 punt-return yards (long 47) as DVC outgained San Jose 180–141 in return yards. Adrian Guzman was 6-for-8 on PATs and handled kickoffs, while Jacob Johnson placed a punt inside the 20.
Despite owning just 19:37 of possession and going 2-for-7 on third down, the Vikings' explosive plays—11.8 yards per pass play—and a +1 turnover margin carried the night. DVC finished with 424 passing yards and 145 rushing yards, while the defense held San Jose scoreless after halftime until a late field goal.
